Set up Keepsake
Create your account. You'll keep the journals, invite the family, and send the questions.
Private, and by invitation only
The family’s stories, kept together.
Keepsake is a private place for one family’s memories. Someone asks a question, someone writes the answer, and over time the answers become a book, linked to the family tree they belong to.

How it works
- 1
Ask
Children, grandchildren and cousins send the questions they’ve always wondered about. One goes out each week by email, at a pace that suits the writer.
- 2
Write
A calm, simple page with nothing to figure out. It saves as you go, and nobody sees a word until the writer chooses to share it.
- 3
Keep
Shared stories gather into a book, year by year, for the whole family to read now and to hand down later.
Also inside
The family tree
Look up anyone, see how you’re related, and read every story they appear in.
Photos and faces
Add old photos to the people in them, so a name in a story comes with a face.
Stories of those we’ve lost
Gather the stories someone left behind into a journal of their own, alongside everyone else’s.
Private by design
- Invitation only. There’s no public sign-up. Every account starts with an invitation from the family.
- You decide who reads what. Each journal and family tree has its own list of who can see it.
- Kept at home. Everything lives on the family’s own computer, not a company’s servers. No ads, and nothing is ever sold.
Keepsake is invitation-only for now.

Who can see and do what, in every journal and family tree in your Keepsake.
The welcome page photo
People who aren’t signed in land on the welcome page, with this photo behind the words. Anyone who has your Keepsake address can see it, so a place or a scene may suit it better than close-ups of faces. The words sit on the left, so a photo that’s plainer on that side reads best.
